they won't do that.. they'll do it on how many sign up and then decide ://
the fun tournament at i35 is completly different, because that had what, 10 - 15 teams? this tournament will have just less...
ye but they may turn around and say only 15 teams can play fun tourney, then if there's 25, there's gonna be 10 teams there and wont be playing anything at all
If the signups are all on one day, in a way that would be good because it would show Multiplay up as they wouldn't be able to handle the ammount of people that want to play meaning at the next LAN...
True, but i cant remember when they opened up the sign ups for the fun tournament, i know we didn't sign up till we were at lan - If sign ups are opened late they wont have time to change anything.
yeah, but imagine it has more sign ups.. it's IMPOSSIBLE to run a tournament on ONE day :S
look at the cod4 sign ups at i35, imagine the groupstages, double elimination etc. all in one day, we'd...
Just assuming it is, was @ i36 & i can't see them running it parallel with the cod5 tourney in case the fun tourney had more sign ups (which it would)
wheres the schedule saying it's only on sunday? :S
We need to have the cod4 tourney run the same way the cod5 one is (over 2/3 days) and not just the sunday, cus then i think ppl would still go (well UK base teams at least) and ur right, would love...
Yeah, the fact there is no prize fund for CoD4 is a joke, the fact there is money been put into a game nobody plays is a joke and the fact that one of the biggest games played has a pathetic £5000...

the fun tournament at i35 is completly different, because that had what, 10 - 15 teams? this tournament will have just less than what there was at i35.. plus they MAY run it at the same time as cod5.
the signups will be like normal (go to tournament pages on the website).

If the signups are all on one day, in a way that would be good because it would show Multiplay up as they wouldn't be able to handle the ammount of people that want to play meaning at the next LAN they'll have to run an official CoD4 tourney if that makes sense.
They won't run it at the same time because they know more will turn up to play CoD4, but they can't have it all on one day; it would fall to peices :)

We need to have the cod4 tourney run the same way the cod5 one is (over 2/3 days) and not just the sunday, cus then i think ppl would still go (well UK base teams at least) and ur right, would love to see EG back there :D amongst a few other teams too.
Yeah, the fact there is no prize fund for CoD4 is a joke, the fact there is money been put into a game nobody plays is a joke and the fact that one of the biggest games played has a pathetic £5000 excuse for a prize fund is just ridiculous; I'll be playing the CoD4 fun tourney! See you all there^^
yeah exactly, but as you say, they're contracted by Activision.
CSS is the biggest game and still only gets £5,000 overall ;/ it's a joke
hilarious how they revert from euros back to pounds from euros (to make their prize funds look higher) now that the pound is worth as much as be writing £1 on a piece of paper haha..
it's a joke, we need the high prize funds back, cod4 + css.. easy!
The prize fund for CSS is even ridiculous, teams from other countries are not going to want to come even if there's TUP; it won't be worth their time or money; like you said, teams like EG make the LAN alot more enjoyable.
They need to stop putting money into a game nobody cares about, and listen to the people that are going to be playing at i36.
yeah exactly Ellie, wizzo with his little BIGGEST LAN YET bs..?! what's he on, the prize funds are the lowest for ages, and cod5 over cod4.. unbelievable. it's gonna go back to an all UK lan, which sucks cos teams like EG in attendance livens up the competition.
CoD4 all the way^^ I don't care about the prize fund because the chances of winning are rather small anyway; the fact is that nobody wants to play CoD5 apart from the teams that have never been heard of or as Ashlee says (Who is next to me) "Are crap".
Known teams will be playing CoD4 at i36 whether there's money in it or not, because if nobody does now then every i-series LAN will most likely go to CoD5 just because they are contracted with Activision; need to make a stand now, if there are more people playing the fun CoD4 tourny then mutliplay will have to do something about it as it would be embarrasing for more people to enter a fun tourney than an offical tournament; so much for the biggest LAN yet.
lol, well TCM, infused, dignitas etc. have pretty much said they're not playing cod5 and will play cod4
so yeah..
ye but why would they? no sponsored team is going to go when there is no prize fund (which is a shame really, because it shouldn't be about money, but that's the way it is...)
well tbh vixxen the big teams will be there and hopefully will play cod4.
Meh, well either way, the social factor is a big plus for me anyway, I would go even if there wasn't any fun tourny either tbh, coz I like meeting people and having a laugh there with the people I already know.
And you can still play ^_^, rofl scrims ftw, and it gives chance to get some good old classic fun in too lol, can't beat a good old CTF on Facing Worlds in UT99 lol.
Meh I dunno, I was really pissed off at first about the whole cod 5 tourny thing, but it aint gonna change really is it, so I just trying to see the bright side of things for once (which is a first for me ^^) but yea, can still be fun tbh if we make it fun :)
I think ya misunderstood, its the fact that 2 of the days i will have bugger all to do except be sociable (not a hardship, but i wanna play too!) if the fun tourney was run the same as the main tourney then id go (over a few days) & play that. Although i can't see how the big teams are going to be there with cod5, don't see any of them going for it.
well I've only won one LAN, where only dystopa with phantasy came along to compete against us, wasn't a bad prize (£1875) but it's not about the money.
I like the money factor because it attracts teams, I love the fact of having teams like EG, fnatic etc. at an i-series ,adds to the atmosphere etc =]
We will still be going and playing in the fun tourny. In all honesty, their cod 5 tourny is gonna fail bigtime even if there is money involved. Like Ryan says, the cod 4 tourny is gonna be worth it anyway and at least some of the big teams are going to be playing so it's win win.
And tbh, I see it like this, don't get me wrong, obviously every LAN is good to aim for the big ££'s but dunno about everyone else here, but I never won anything in the other cod 4 tournies, but they were still fun, so why see this as any different?
