Hmmm...

I have a wad of cash burning a whole in my pocket and i don't know whether to turn my PC into a Vista gaming beast with a Q6600, another 2GB of RAM and another 8800GT or venture into console gaming with a xbox and a few games.

or i could be sensible and save it

I'd go for PC since I am not much of a console gamer :) But I guess it depends on what you got already and what would be the bigger upgrade... in terms of "joy" :)

Edit: Looking at your specs I'd say 2GB of memory would be the wisest decision if you want to run Vista nicely. Second 8800GT or the Quad-Core is not really needed.

So get both, Vista machine and a nice console!

Meh, I had the same decision and ending up getting both.

First month I bought a PS3 with a nice 42" LCD High Def TV, but now it's just rotting in my room when I upgraded my PC. Expensive decision I know, might be worth saving it for a house seeing as the prices are dropping like crazy or maybe even a holiday!

Won't be getting a house for a good few years haha

holiday sounds good, or even putting it towards a car :o

& meth, it wouldn't be a beast then :(, im after like future proofing it or something

Lolz, didn't check how old you were, sorry :[

Those were my thoughts at the time though, a car is another awesome alternative as it's almost essential for some people (for work n stuff). Insurance will be the killer though, I think my first premium on my Peugot 306 1.9l was near enough £1200 (robbing bast*rds!)

1 litre mini from the 80's ftw :D

the insurance is about £400 year, not bad i guess for my age

    Argh! Jealous :(

Mate of mines got a mini, we drove up to Sheffield in it, such a good laugh apart from when the bonet suddenly popped up when we were going 80 up the motorway! Never been so scared in my life :D

    Save it :D

Your pc is good enough at the mo to play what you want it to play, why not wait a little bit and then see what you need :)
